34.       GUN SIGHT

All eyes fixate on the gun sight
From morning until late
The watchdog needs light
And infrared at night
To keep the target insight.
Blink the eyes if the sun goes bright,
Weapons to the left,
Weapons to the right,
Weapons high
And weapons low.
A reload with every shot
From exercise to the heat of war
The focus point stays on the goal.
Like ointment to the sorrow
Of all born hearts
We thread for our existence
And hope to keep
Our targets at a distance.
