6.         THE REMEMBRANCER

From a day not far along
We will find our hearts sing a song
To draw young faces at attention
With little comfort our hearts want to mention.

As we talk of danger and hardship,
Of humour and friendship.
We see old faces
That embraces us,
And when our young-ones depart
Do our thoughts allow us a tear.

Friend we are told
And words flow easy when we are old.
When memories page through papers and medals.
While citizen force units
Still waits with their open doors.
