20.       TWO FRONTS

We all know the basics of the battlefront,
From its sorrows to the hunt
Being victorious or prisoners of war.
In our work like lions we roar
To our romance of war.
We honour the brave,
Glorious is our cause
To challenge the knights of war.
Over and over until death or maim
We cling to the occupation of war.
As we are posted as far as Dakar,
We forget family and friends
In our lost patrol or in the heat of battle.
Only in despair do we remember them.
Rejoice old soldier between your kin
As you finally find the battle of the homeward front,
Are you victorious or a prisoner of war
To our romance of war?
We honour the brave,
Glorious is our cause
To challenge the knights of love.
Over and over until death or main.
We cling to the occupation of love and war.
Therefore do we find love in the Creator’s Creation
And find we fight for the truth.
